Industry & Investment NSW support for new food website listing
Sally and Gordon Hammond’s Australian Regional Food Guide has led the way in researching, publicising and supporting regional food and wine producers and in this, its 10th successful year, launches a new website to celebrate this milestone anniversary.
The new website http://www.australianregionalfoodguide.com.au/ had its soft launch earlier this month introducing visitors to a brand new platform, format, and features that further enhance the site’s leadership in promoting the best fresh, local produce and products from throughout the nation.
Industry & Investment is subsidising eligible NSW food companies to list on this site for the next 12 months. Interested food producers should contact Jillian Fryer on jillian.fryer@business.nsw.gov.au for more details.

Premier’s NSW Export Awards
NSW’s top exporters were announced at the 2009 Premier’s NSW Export Awards dinner held in Sydney on 28 October 2009.
Agribusiness and food companies featured prominently among the winners.
Agribusiness Exporter of the Year: Namoi Cotton Co-operative Ltd
Namoi Cotton is the only Australian owned company in the cotton industry. They are also the leading provider of ginning and marketing services to the Australian cotton industry.
Regional Exporter of the Year: MSM Milling
MSM Milling Pty. Ltd. operates Australia’s first and most modern integrated oilseed crushing and refining facility at Manildra in Central NSW.
Young Exporter of the Year: Garrick Harvison-Yarraman Estate
Yarraman Estate is the oldest vineyard in the Upper Hunter producing wine and distributing it globally.
NSW Asian Exporter of the Year: Atron Enterprises Pty Ltd
Atron processes and markets a range of chilled and frozen meat products and offal under a number of brands nationally and internationally.

Kangaroo Action Plan to counter effect of Russian Ban
The NSW Government is supporting the development and implementation of a national
kangaroo industry marketing plan to help counter the significant impact of a Russian ban
on kangaroo meat imports.
The Kangaroo Industry Association of Australia reports that up to 2,400 jobs have been lost because of the Russian ban which has also forced the closure of a string of regional kangaroo processing operations. | Read more | |
